Basic American Government
Learn about the grand experiment in self-government through a constitutional republic in the United States. Then evaluate how well that written constitution has held up to the stresses of an ever more diverse population through the centuries of growth.
Basic Economics
Learn how free markets, limited government, and the rule of law have led to the flourishing of individuals and societies wherever they have existed. Evaluate how flourishing was hindered whenever government power was used to establish privileges for some over others.
We designed Boundary Stone’s homeschool government and economics courses to take a student through our textbooks in one semester each. This material exposes students to the practical principles of government and economics and they learn how to apply these principles to real life decisions. They also examine history and the consequences we are currently experiencing for applying or ignoring these principles in our past.
Course Features for Government and Economics

- When purchased, the user set up in checkout will by default have access to the course, mini-course project, and teacher’s guide pdf download. If you would like your student to have a separate login of their own, send their email address and first and last name to Cathe.
- Online daily assignments keep the student on track to finish each course in one semester (18 weeks).
- The schedule is completely flexible so you are able to adjust to your schedule.
- Most lessons include one or two short videos (from various sources).
- Most weeks reserve one day for working on the mini-course project.
- Online chapter quizzes check the student’s comprehension of key concepts.
- Four online tests help assess student progress.

The Law Mini-Course
Covered in four lessons, The Law, written by Frédéric Bastiat in 1850, is essential reading for anyone wanting to understand the basic principles of liberty, government, and effectively written law. Link included for a free pdf of the 50-page essay available at fee.org (use their 2019 version).
Policy Issues Project
This mini-course is designed to take a student through the process of writing a research paper on a government policy in the news. It is also included for free to anyone who purchases our Basic American Government online course.
